First things, first... It sounds like we will be experiencing our first winter weather, starting tomorrow morning with chances of snow showers and then switching over to snow, starting at about 9:00am and continuing throughout the rest of the day and night. As of right now, we are only forecasted to receive approximately 4 inches of snow, but as we are well-familiar with weather in our neck of the woods, it can change for better or worse in the blink of an eye. If you're worried, please keep a close eye on the local news channels and don't hesitate to reach out to me via email, if necessary.
*** Speaking of... I reminded the students that it is VERY IMPORTANT that they come prepared to school with not only their jackets, hats, and mittens, but also BOOTS and SNOWPANTS - starting TOMORROW! They will not be allowed to fully participate in recess without these items. Please help them be fully equipped to enjoy our first round of winter weather! THANK YOU!
*** NEW THIS YEAR *** As our previous method of immediate contact "REMIND," has too many glitches to count, we have implemented the direct alert system from FACTS. Sometime today, you will receive a test text message and/or email, verifying that this is our immediately alert system moving forward.
To ensure that you are able to receive our alerts, please text the keyword “START” to 31706 from your mobile device. Any text alerts from our school will begin with “Parent Alert: QOP-MN” and calls will show from “218-879-8516”.
Please note that email alerts from this system will appear with noreply@pikmykid.com as the sender. Rest assured, these emails are from the school and are not spam. We kindly ask that you do not unsubscribe, as doing so may prevent you from receiving important future alerts.
PLEASE READ BELOW FOR SPECIAL REMINDERS!!!

The second trimester of the 2025-2026 school year officially starts after Thanksgiving Break on Monday, December 1st - WOW! Report Cards from the first trimester are scheduled to come home on Tuesday, December 2nd, and we'll be doing something different this year - so please pay attention!
Rather than writing down on the paper copies, as we have done for many, many year, that then have to be signed and returned after both the first and second trimester, before being fully relinquished to families after the end of that school year, we will be sending out emails, directly from our FACTS Management system. It will contain everything that our previous report cards included, including comments from teachers, but they will be delivered right to your email inbox!
There is no signing and returning, but we do ask that you take a moment to verify receipt through an email which will be sent directly from the office on the same day.
The will be NO PUBLIC SCHOOL on Friday, December 5th. Therefore, please make arrangements for your child's transportation, if necessary.
There will also be no public school lunch available. HOWEVER, our Middle School Enrichment will be making a spaghetti dinner, along with fruit, for any interested student! Thank you, Mr. Peterson, for facilitating this!
